Ronnie Remmy Mukwaya is a passionate community leader and social impact advocate dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable populations in rural Uganda.

Raised in a large family and faced with significant financial challenges during his early education, Ronnie developed a deep understanding of the struggles faced by underserved communities. These experiences shaped his commitment to creating opportunities for others facing similar hardships.

A Calling to Serve

Village Vision Care was founded out of Ronnie’s deep calling to serve vulnerable communities. His journey was profoundly influenced by his late sponsor, Glenn Flaten, a Rotarian from Ottawa, Canada, whose compassion, generosity, and fatherly support helped shape Ronnie’s vision for community service. In honor of Glenn’s legacy, Ronnie established Village Vision Care to uplift the vulnerable, restore hope, and serve communities in need. Glenn’s memory remains a guiding light and continuous source of inspiration for the organization’s mission.
He is the Founder of Village Vision Care (VVC), where he leads initiatives supporting disadvantaged children, vulnerable and unemployed youth, struggling single and young mothers, elderly individuals without care, and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs). Under his leadership, the organization focuses on expanding access to education, vocational skills training, and community-based empowerment programs.
A key priority of his work is promoting sustainable livelihoods through practical skills development, financial literacy, and participation in Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA), enabling youth and young mothers to earn stable incomes and become self-reliant.

As a Volunteer CEO, Ronnie continues to mobilize local and international partnerships, advocate for inclusive and sustainable development, and drive a vision where empowered individuals create a multiplier effect by uplifting others within their communities.
