aims to empower thousands of rural households, women, and youth through access to affordable loans, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship support. We envision resilient communities with thriving small businesses, productive farms, and sustainable livelihoods, working hand in hand with Village Vision Care programs to transform lives for generations to come.
Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) is a community-based financial initiative established under Village Vision Care to promote financial inclusion and economic empowerment among low-income households in Uganda.
Many rural families, smallholder farmers, women, and youth have limited access to formal financial services. Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) was created to bridge this gap by providing accessible financial services that support entrepreneurship, increase productivity, and improve livelihoods.
Through micro-loans, savings groups, and financial literacy programs, Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) empowers individuals and community groups to start and grow income-generating activities. The initiative promotes a culture of saving, responsible borrowing, and sustainable community development.
To build financially empowered and self-reliant communities where rural households have access to inclusive financial services that improve productivity, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.
To provide accessible microfinance services, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship support that empower women, youth, farmers, and small entrepreneurs to improve their incomes and quality of life.

Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) aims to make financial services simple and accessible to rural communities. Individuals, entrepreneurs, farmers, and community groups who wish to access our services can follow the steps below:
Visit our office or contact our community field officers to express your interest in applying for a loan.
Fill out a simple loan application form and provide basic information about your business or income-generating activity.
Our team reviews the application and may visit the applicant to understand the business idea, needs, and ability to repay.
Once the application is reviewed and approved, the applicant is informed about the loan amount, repayment plan, and loan conditions.
Approved funds are released to the borrower to support the intended business or productive activity.
Our team provides follow-up support and guidance to help borrowers grow their businesses and manage repayments responsibly.
Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) works hand in hand with the broader development programs of Village Vision Care to strengthen community transformation. While Village Vision Care focuses on key areas such as education support, health and WASH, livelihood development, and environmental conservation, Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA)provides the financial empowerment needed to sustain these initiatives.
Through accessible financial services and entrepreneurship support, families are able to start and expand income-generating activities, which helps them meet essential needs such as education for their children, healthcare, clean water, and improved living conditions.
By integrating microfinance with community development programs, Village Vision Care promotes a holistic approach that empowers households to become self-reliant and build sustainable livelihoods for the future.
Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) believes in responsible lending practices that protect both the borrower and the sustainability of the program. We ensure that loans are given based on realistic repayment ability and productive use.
We also provide financial literacy and entrepreneurship guidance to help our beneficiaries manage their finances effectively and grow sustainable enterprises.
Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) believes that sustainable development begins when communities have the opportunity and capacity to improve their own economic wellbeing. Our approach focuses on empowering individuals and community groups with financial services, practical skills, and continuous mentorship.
We work closely with rural households, farmers, women, and youth to strengthen their ability to create income-generating activities and small enterprises that support their families.
We work directly with local communities to understand their needs and design financial solutions that respond to their realities.
We expand access to financial services for people who are often excluded from traditional banking systems.
We support individuals and groups to start and grow small businesses that contribute to local economic development.
Through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VLSAs), we promote a culture of saving, responsible borrowing, and mutual support among community members.
We provide financial literacy and basic business training to help beneficiaries manage resources wisely and build sustainable enterprises.
Our ultimate goal is to help families move from poverty to self-reliance by increasing productivity, improving household income, and strengthening community resilience.
